This weekend kicks off the official start of the College Series. The So Cal and Washington/BC Sectionals are two of the strongest in the nation this year and feature teams that are in the mix for the title. The South Section features three teams that were national-caliber last year and find themselves in the new position of being the challengers.

For the first time since the nation was divided into eight Regions instead of just five, every Region should get two bids this season. The Southwest last season, the Central before it, the South for several seasons, and even the mighty Northwest have all agonized through seasons with only one Bid.

This is the first of a series of exciting weekends that are coming up over the next month or so. This past weekend was Yale Cup, which is basically a rehearsal for NE Regionals, Florida Sectionals, Desert Sectionals, and East Penn Sectionals. Next weekend also has it's fair share of action with the Bay Area, Carolina, and SoCal sectionals. Here are some thoughts.

It's hard motivating myself to write here when i have to catch up on episodes of LOST or am forced... i mean want..to read 'Terror in the Balance' for my last classes. Anyways, centex is done and gone.

Ultimate started out as a hippie game, with people tossing around a Frisbee for fun, but it's become a hard-core sport with a cult following. The only laid-back thing left might be tardiness.

So all the sectional tournaments have been played. There have been some upsets, some broken hearts, and some truly spectacular sectional showdowns. I love this time of year because we get to see who are the contenders and who are the pretenders. Here are some final sectional thoughts and some regional previews.
