For the first time since the nation was divided into eight Regions instead of just five, every Region should get two bids this season. The Southwest last season, the Central before it, the South for several seasons, and even the mighty Northwest have all agonized through seasons with only one Bid. Three of those four claimed Strength Bids after the UPA College Championships in Columbus, and can appreciate the teams of the South Region breathing a collective sigh of relief, having the final Size Bid in hand if everyone shows up for their Sectional tournaments.
