The Region that has suffered through the most one bid seasons since the redraw in 1998 will have to sweat out a few more weeks before it will know if it claimed the final Size Bid for the 2008 College Championships.

In this feature The Huddle presents a look at the six of the top West Coast teams in attendance this past weekend at the Emerald City Classic, held an hour north of Seattle in Burlington, Washington.

This past weekend Doublewide, the club Open team out of Austin, Texas, was the surprise winner of the South Region, defeating favorite Chain Lightning from Atlanta, Georgia. Doublewide standout cutter Kiran Thomas has graciously given us a recap of this past weekend’s events.

So, now that the week is over and I'm back home, I guess it is time to reflect on the whole experience. No matter how many times you do it, and no matter what division you are in, Worlds is something very special.

Women's College Centex is centered around two things: competition and community. While a few teams remain at the top of the food chain, competitive games happened across the board and a number of up-and coming teams proved their worth as contenders for a bid to Nationals.

For the first time since the nation was divided into eight Regions instead of just five, every Region should get two bids this season. The Southwest last season, the Central before it, the South for several seasons, and even the mighty Northwest have all agonized through seasons with only one Bid.
