Aside from all the College Ultimate going on, there is this little tournament in Vancouver happening this August 2nd-9th, the WFDF (World Flying Disc Federation) World Ultimate and Guts Championships. In accordance with the WFDF rules, a team is invited to represent their country if they win their country’s National Championship the previous year. Furious George managed this by beating GOAT at Canadian Nationals last August, and representing the Red, White and Blue, is Seattle Sockeye who beat Boulder’s Johnny Bravo in a spectacular 15-13 game last October. Another team that will be exciting to watch this summer will be the Japanese National team, the Buzz Bullets.

This article brings up an interesting point. The highest level teams have to change their training/preparation to take into account more than just the UPA series. Wonder how that will affect the higher level teams.
