If you are always preparing your body to throw, your pivot is always a threat and every fake must be respected. Developing a repertoire of convincing, effective fakes will follow naturally if you work to make your pivot, windup, and release more efficient.

The biggest tournament of the season is upon us, and there is so much to be decided. The College landscape has been blessed (or riddled, depending on your perspective) with one thing this season, parity. That is, if you don’t include the defending National Champions and their undefeated record and three tournament titles.

But overall, people were amazingly friendly, certainly to me and my team. I think I mentioned once before, I enjoy my nanocelebrity status. I got a lot of "Good game, Jim" in the line after the game, people introduced themselves, and I even got VIP access at the finals (worse seats, but free beer).

Great weather today for the Northwest; just about 60 degrees, a thrower’s wind (8-ish MPH, just enough to allow only good throwers to hit the endzone from anywhere, but not enough to make them shy), and very little rain.

i think jam's run to the national championship was a bit of a surprise by many involved, and i can only imagine that not many people thought we had more than an outside chance at winning.

Every player in this sport always strives to make him or herself a better player. So, how does a player become better? The greatest players in our sport aren’t known for having trick throws, a signature move or some other unnatural characteristic that sets them apart. They’re known for doing the basics better than everybody else. So, what are the basics?

Take a second and visualize yourself on the mark. The thrower takes a big step to the backhand side, pretty clear windup, she puts her head down...

...and then throws a convincing fake before pivoting back over to the forehand side.

My question: how were you attempting to stop the huck?
