This site was created to educate Ultimate players about common injuries and medical issues that stem from playing our incredible sport. Inside IT, you'll find papers written by health care professionals for Ultimate players on all sorts of topics, from prevention of common injuries to ankle wrapping to how to build a first aid kit for yourself or your team.

Here's a great quote: "what a coach knows but his players don't is irrelevant when it comes to winning games". This I interpret, as a coach, is your goal is to convey information about the game, the situation, and the skill to your players. This passing of information is done at practice and in games.

One of the challenges of coaching is having young players as well as older players understand the difference in the window of opportunity of i/o throws and o/i throws. Especially break throws.

No matter what level of team here in the northeast, at least once a game, there is always the dreaded i/o break turnover to someone making a cone cut from the back of the stack.

Every team in a Region gets to vote for the seven players that make it on to the All-Region teams, so everyone knows that if a player is on an All-Region team, she commanded the attention and respect of her regional rivals. For the 2008 season, there are 18 players across the country that have been recognized as All-Region caliber (some more than once!).

We'll we've had to work out a few kinks but we will now be live
streaming all the finals for the low price of only $7. We are now
offering two streams, one low for people with slower internet
connections and one high for those with good download speeds.

Watching two good club teams play each other is a really special treat. If you haven't broken in to that level and had the opportunity to train in a system that creates those kinds players, the nearest substitute you can get is attentively watching. Something as simple as watching the players throw as they warm up can yield some wisdom--players throw hard, but confidently, to their target...

After finishing a Summer League game the other night, I was walking to the car thinking a little bit more about the comparisons I was trying to draw between soccer, basketball, and chess, in particular the importance of establishing space in the middle of the field or in the middle of the board.

The most terrifying aspect of captaining or coaching, for many players, is being responsible for deciding who plays, and when. In this issue, we'll discuss the thought processes that go into making these decisions.
