I want to let people know that Ultimate at World Games sold 39,500 tickets to the games. This surpassed Rugby 7s, which had only 35000. This is a great step forward for the game. Team USA beat Japan 13-6 in the finals. Canada lost it's bronze medal match to Australia 13-8.

Team USA leaves today for the other side of the Pacific, where they will defend the World Games Ultimate title that the USA won in Germany in 2005. We were lucky enough to find ten members of Team USA who could answer questions about their specialties.

Yes, lots on our plate these days. Club Nationals, a looming college season, but I want to talk about something else. The 2009 World Games are just around the corner and if the U.S. national team wants to improve the selection process from 2005 the time to start thinking about that is now (or, weeks & months ago really, but now will suffice).

Before the weight of the world begins to chip away at our mind and bodies. Before the years start to catch up with us and life choices have pushed us down one road or another, there is a time where ultimate is at its purest, with no distractions, no drama and best of all, no BS.
